Remove DNS Unlocker Ads Malware (Uninstall Guide)

So it's all very well saying you need to be aware of DNS Unlocker adware but what actually is it? Can it cause you harm and what disruptive behavior can is display on the computer or other device that it's wound up being installed on? And is there any way that you can protect yourself from it and avoid being bugged by this adware in the future?

We'll take a look at the answers to all these questions below.

First of all: what is DNS Unlocker?

DNS Unlocker is a computer program that has been designed to display adverts by DNS Unlocker on your screen whenever you are connected to the internet. Well that doesn’t sound too bad, you might think but the problem is, adware is a little more than a simple marketing device. It has been created with more than just advertising in mind and, being a computer program – and not a particularly desirable one at that – it can actually create a number of problems for your computer.

What issues does DNS Unlocker adware create?

It can also change your browser and tool bar. It does this so that when you type in keywords or a URL (web address) instead of taking you to the website that you expect to be directed to like your normal browser would, the rogue browser will redirect you to one that the adware's programmer wants you to visit instead. You don't need us to tell you what a huge waste of your time this quickly becomes!

DNS Unlocker is usually packaged with another program that you downloaded and the big problem here is that it might not be the only third party program piggy backing on your installation. Spyware is often known to hang around with adware, so to speak, and you may well find yourself winding up with this nasty malware on your computer too. In fact, adware actually comes with a component which monitors which websites you visit, so that it can tell what you are interested in and then tailor the adverts you see to your tastes. This may sound very similar to spyware, but they difference is that spyware can also install a keylogger on your PC so that it can track which keys you type. It will collect this information and send it back to the spyware's owner who will use it to hack into your operating system or accounts (because they now have your log in details and passwords) or they will sell it on to a third party.

Less lethal, but still annoying, is the fact that the adware's tracking component slows your computer's operating speeds and internet connection right down because it is toiling away and busily sending all that juicy data it has collected about your web browsing habits back to the developer.

The big question is, how then do you protect yourself from DNS Unlocker ads? The best thing you can do is to install a decent anti-malware program the minute you've finished reading this.
